Framing that lets the work speak.

A small studio for custom picture framing, photo mounting, and conservation glazing — finished by hand, built to last.

See what we do

Crafted for the piece in front of us

Every frame starts with the artwork. We help you choose materials and proportions that suit the piece and the room it lives in — then cut, join, and fit everything in our workshop.

Custom frames

Hardwood and finished mouldings cut to size, joined and finished by hand for paintings, prints, and photographs.

Archival mounting

Acid-free mats and backing that protect the work over decades, with hinging that never touches the image.

Conservation glazing

UV-filtering and anti-reflective glazing options to keep colours true and the surface easy to view.

A workshop, not a warehouse

Northlight is a two-bench studio. Work is measured, cut, and assembled on site, so we can adjust a mat width or swap a moulding while you watch rather than sending it off and hoping.

Bring in a canvas, a pressed flower, a jersey, a set of family photographs — if it can be framed, we will talk it through with you.

Finishes on the bench

Walnut

Warm, dark, and understated — a steady choice for photography.

Natural oak

Light grain that keeps a piece feeling open and contemporary.

Brushed pewter

A soft metal finish for prints and modern work.

Matte black

Clean lines that recede and let the image carry the wall.
